Francis Remodel
reeyaIsTheBest.jpeg

The Francis home renovation was a five month project in Fremont, designed and built by myself and a small team. The scope included the addition of a bathroom and the expansion of an existing bedroom and adjoining hallway. It was a very materials forward project. Use of natural materials was outlined from the beginning as an important tenet. This was expressed in the use of wood and bare metals as well as a selection of zellige tile. We took inspiration from my client’s grandparent’s home, a beautiful Scandinavian folk home on Bainbridge Island with several key elements using wood milled from the property.

Brandy Hill Remodel
round 3 Brandy Hill_1.8.4.jpg

Brandy Hill Farm was a major renovation undertaken by myself and designer Eny Lee Parker. Left abandoned for years the 1877 farmhouse underwent significant alterations including the addition of a bathroom and the conversion of historic stables into living quarters. From the outset, the goal was to balance the home’s historical context with a contemporary design language. With a shared sensibility around craft and material Eny

and I worked closely on the design while I lived onsite completing all construction.

I began my furniture practice in 2019 after finishing school. From the beginning it was the materials and the processes surrounding them which drove my work. I’ve always been curious about the way in which things are made and finding novel processes has always been the catalyst for new designs. This curiosity has led me to work across many different mediums and I am still seeking out modes of making.
